TS Renovations is an owner-run remodeling company based in Chittenden County, VT, in business since 2006. We run a tight team where every carpenter is highly skilled. Our work spans full home remodels, additions, outdoor living spaces, and everything in between.
About the Role
We're hiring an experienced Lead Carpenter to run jobs from frame to finish. You'll take a project from demo through punch list and own the quality and progress of that job on site.
Our project mix means mostly indoor work through the Vermont winter. If you take pride in craftsmanship, run a clean and organized jobsite, and want to work for a company that does things the right way, we'd like to talk to you.
What You'll Do
- Lead a small crew through the full project lifecycle, demo to punch list
- Read plans, sequence the work, and keep the job on schedule
- Execute high-quality framing and finish carpentry: walls, joists, stud work, cabinets, trim, doors, windows, flooring, tile, drywall, and more
- Track time and materials for all on-site change orders
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers
- Mentor your crew and set the tone for quality and professionalism
- Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners
- Manage job information, daily logs, photos, schedules, and client communication through our project management platform
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient worksite
- Solve problems in the field and make smart calls when plans need to flex
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of hands-on carpentry experience with proven lead experience running residential remodeling projects
- Strong skills across the full scope: framing, finish, trim, cabinets, tile, and everything in between
- Ability to read and interpret plans and translate them to the field
- Accurate tracking of time and materials, especially for change orders
- Tech-savvy - comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and project management software daily, and confident managing job info, scheduling, daily logs, and client communication through a cloud-based platform
- Strong communication skills with crew and clients, and a positive, professional attitude on the jobsite
- Dependable, organized, and able to manage a consistent 40-hour week
- Lives within reasonable commuting distance of Chittenden County
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Own tool belt, hand tools, and standard carpentry tools
- Comfortable on your feet all day and able to lift 50+ lbs
