A Skilled Laborer plays a crucial role in supporting small teams of 1 to 5 members across various projects including construction, roofing, sheet metal fabrication, maintenance, repair, and masonry. This role requires proficiency with standard hand and power tools, alongside a strong commitment to professionalism and teamwork. The Skilled Laborer helps ensure project efficiency through tasks like material handling, site preparation, and quality inspections, typically working regular weekday hours with occasional weekend or overtime assignments.
Responsibilities
- Must have functioning phone for progress documentation and time-clock operation.
- Handle materials efficiently and safely on site
- Prepare work sites to meet project specifications
- Perform general manual labor tasks as required
- Load and unload materials and equipment
- Manage and maintain tools to ensure readiness
- Conduct quality inspections to uphold standards
- Maintain professionalism and effective communication on site
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years experience in skilled labor roles
- Proficient in operating hand and power tools
- Basic understanding of construction processes
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Effective problem-solving abilities
- Ability to adapt to changing work conditions
Requirements
- Functional cell phone for progress documentation & time-clock access.
- Vehicle is preferred, but Drivers License is required.
G. Helms Construction operates Mon-Fri from 7:00am to 5:30pm, with some opportunities for OT hours and weekend work on small repairs and missions.
