Role Description The Executive Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based at Temple Sinai in South Burlington, VT. This position provides comprehensive administrative and executive support to clergy, lay leadership, and senior staff, helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the synagogue office. Responsibilities include managing calendars, scheduling meetings and events, coordinating correspondence, and serving as a primary point of contact for congregants, vendors, and community partners. The Executive Assistant will prepare and track expense reports, maintain accurate records and databases, and support board and committee activities with meeting materials and minutes. The role also involves managing office supplies and equipment, assisting with communications and basic document formatting, and supporting the planning and logistics of programs, holidays, and special events.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in Executive Administrative Assistance and Executive Support for senior leaders or organizational leadership.
- Strong Administrative Assistance skills, including calendar management, meeting coordination, document preparation, and records management.
- Ability to prepare, review, and process Expense Reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent Communication skills, including clear, professional written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace) and comfort learning synagogue or membership databases.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization abilities, with a focus on reliability and follow-through.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively, with a service-oriented mindset and flexibility to support occasional evening or weekend events.
- Familiarity with or interest in Jewish culture, holidays, and congregational life is beneficial but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in administration or a related field is a plus.
