The Morristown Police Department is accepting applications from Vermont-certified police officers with a level III certification for the position of full-time Patrol Officer.

Morristown is the largest town by population in Lamoille County covering an area of 51.29 square miles and serves as the regions center for commerce, social services, and health care.
Morristown Police offers specialized unit opportunities for the following: SIU (Special Investigation Unit), the Vermont Drug Force, Drug Recognition Expert, K9 Unit, Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement, small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAF), and Snowmobile Enforcement.
Current applicants that are level III certified will receive a $15,000 sign-on bonus for in-state (Vermont) certification. We also offer an accelerated hiring process that includes a resume and letter of intent, oral board interview, psychological evaluation, and extensive background check for certified applicants.
The base salary ranges, not including extra duty and Overtime pay, range from $31.57 - $45.99 per hour based on experience.

Requirements that must be met prior to consideration for employment are; U.S. Citizenship, High School diploma or GED equivalent, a valid driver’s license, no illicit drug use for one (1) year prior to application submittal, no convictions for felony crimes or any crime involving moral turpitude, and no domestic abuse orders in effect from any state or U.S. territory.
Out of State Applicants- The Morristown Police Department encourages out of state applicants to apply to our department. If you are currently full time certified in another state, you are still required to complete all stages of the hiring process. If your current certification is comparable to the Vermont Police Academy, the Vermont Criminal Justice Training Council may waive the requirement for you to complete the Vermont Police Academy.
