A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Director of Revenue Cycle to provide strategic leadership and oversight of all patient financial services functions, including billing, accounts receivable, and revenue optimization. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and financial performance across the revenue cycle.

Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for all revenue cycle operations, including billing, collections, cash posting, and accounts receivable management
- Lead, mentor, and develop revenue cycle leadership and staff to achieve departmental goals and performance benchmarks
- Oversee patient accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all regulatory and payer requirements.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as days in AR, denial rates, and cash collections
- Direct denial management processes, including root cause analysis, appeals strategy, and payer escalation
- Ensure accurate maintenance of charge master, billing systems, and claims/statement dictionaries across platforms (e.g., Meditech or similar systems)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, operational, and finance teams to optimize revenue integrity and workflow efficiency
- Review payer contracts and reimbursement methodologies; recommend and implement process improvements to maximize revenue
- Stay current on federal, state, and payer-specific billing regulations, ensuring organizational compliance
- Oversee patient billing inquiries and resolution processes, ensuring a high standard of patient satisfaction
- Act as a liaison between revenue cycle teams and practice operations to support training, consistency, and adherence to policies
- Develop and present monthly AR reports, revenue analytics, and executive-level dashboards
- Lead system implementations, training initiatives, and process improvement efforts across the revenue cycle
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive revenue cycle experience in a healthcare setting
- Minimum of 5–7 years in a leadership role overseeing revenue cycle operations
Skills & Expertise:
- Deep knowledge of hospital and physician billing, AR management, and reimbursement methodologies
- Strong understanding of government and commercial payer requirements
- Experience with electronic billing systems (e.g., Meditech, FISS, or similar platforms)
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Proven ability to lead teams, drive performance, and implement process improvements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and revenue cycle reporting tools
