Job Summary
This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment related to the City’s Water Quality (wastewater) System.
Examples of Duties
- Monitor, maintain, and repair equipment and facilities related to the City’s wastewater collection and treatment system.
- Create and maintain accurate record of repairs, routine maintenance tasks, pump station callouts and other significant work tasks.
- Perform general external maintenance tasks such as mowing grass, trimming, and snow removal.
- Performs indoor facility maintenance tasks such as cleaning, mopping, and painting.
- Respond to on-call and weekend duties on a rotating schedule after training period.
- Ensures work is performed in accordance with established safety and operational procedures and techniques, requiring independent judgment in operating equipment.
- Performs duties in accordance with established procedures and techniques, requiring independent judgment and decision making.
- Monitor and collect samples for State wastewater reporting. Perform basic laboratory functions.
- Responsible for accurate data entry into State reporting forms.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent. One year of relevant work experience with the operation of mechanical, electrical, and automotive tools and equipment; equivalency considered.
- Valid VT CDL license with Tanker Endorsement or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
- VT Grade 1-DM Wastewater Operator’s License.
