Propane Service Technician ApprenticeLocation: Grand Isle, VTPosition OverviewRobert's Energy is looking for a motivated Propane Service Technician Apprentice to join our growing team in Grand Isle, Vermont. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the propane industry. You'll work alongside experienced technicians learning propane system installation, service, maintenance, and safety while receiving hands-on training.We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn. Previous propane experience is helpful but not required—we're willing to train the right person.What You'll Do
- Assist licensed propane service technicians with residential and commercial service calls.
- Learn to install propane tanks, regulators, gas piping, and propane appliances.
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot propane systems.
- Assist with gas leak investigations and emergency service calls.
- Learn how to safely pressure test and leak test propane systems.
- Complete appliance installations including furnaces, boilers, water heaters, fireplaces, generators, cook stoves, dryers, and space heaters.
- Help inspect propane equipment to ensure compliance with state, federal, and company safety standards.
- Maintain accurate service paperwork and electronic work orders.
- Stock and organize service trucks with parts, fittings, and materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participate in after-hours emergency service rotation once fully trained.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand and power tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Comfortable working around heights, confined spaces, and excavation work when necessary.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain a Vermont propane service license and other required certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, construction, or propane experience.
- CDL or willingness to obtain one.
- CETP certifications (preferred but not required).
