Job Summary
Riley's Services Inc is seeking out an experienced and dependable CLASS A CDL MANUAL DRIVER to join our team FULL TIME YEAR ROUND! This is a hands-on in-person role with additional hours of overtime expected during our busy seasons.
Responsibilities
- Safely operating a manual transmission tri-axle dump truck to haul aggregate and other material.
- Operating a manual transmission tri-axle dump truck with a tag trailer. Unloading / loading heavy equipment on and off tag trailer safely and securely
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and security
- Drive various other company trucks depending on the day and job including but not limited to a non CDL dumbstruck or a rollback.
- Assisting with winter operations, including but not limited to snow plowing and hauling grit/sand/salt for road maintenance in a trip-axle manual dump truck.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each shift
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in accordance with federal and state regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues during transitSkills
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and experience operating tractor-trailers with manual transmission
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including route driving and delivery of freight across diverse terrains
- Familiarity with different trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when required
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures related to truck driving and freight handling
- Excellent navigation skills for route planning and time management
- Physical ability to handle the demands of long hours on the road and perform vehicle inspections effectively
Pay: From $36.00 per hour
