We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team in Enosburg, VT. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a commitment to providing high-quality dental hygiene services. This role involves working closely with patients to ensure their dental health and comfort while performing various clinical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal therapy on patients of all ages, including pediatric patients.
- Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
- Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for patient documentation and record management.
- Assist in chairside procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow during dental treatments.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Maintain infection control protocols and adhere to aseptic techniques in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans based on patient assessments and needs.
- Manage medical imaging tasks, including X-rays, while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in general dentistry practices.
Qualifications
- Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in using dental software is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of infection control procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with medical coding, documentation review, and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care.
