We're looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and creative Editorial and Marketing Assistant to join our team. This entry-level position offers a rare opportunity to build a career in publishing while gaining hands-on experience in both editorial and marketing. You'll help shape books from manuscript to publication while also helping readers discover and engage with our stories.

Position Summary
The Editorial and Marketing Assistant plays an integral role in supporting both the editorial and marketing functions of Choose Your Own Adventure. Approximately half of your time will be devoted to editorial projects—including manuscript evaluation, editorial contract management, and production schedules coordination. The other half of your time will focus on supporting the marketing team across many initiatives, including social media and email marketing assistance, as well as the planning, logistics, and attendance at all trade shows.
Working closely with authors, editors, designers, sales staff, along with outside licensees, you'll participate in almost every stage of the publishing process while helping connect new generations of readers with interactive storytelling.
This position is fully remote, with up to 30% travel, eastern and central time zones preferred.
Qualifications...
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Creative Writing, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in publishing, marketing, or administrative support (internship experience considered). A passion for children's fiction and interactive storytelling is highly preferred.
Skills: Exceptional story sense with a keen eye for detail on the editorial side, along with an interest in pop culture, gaming and reading trends. Great people skills, organizational abilities as well as strong design opinions for the marketing side.
Tech Savvy: Familiarity with project management tools (like Trello) and metadata workflows is an important plus.
Attributes: Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Energetic, personable, and confident representing the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events, with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications. The salary range for this position is $48k – $52k.
