Role Overview: Responsible for managing store operations, staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations to ensure efficiency and adherence to policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees, ensuring proper staffing and compliance with labor laws.
- Train employees, conduct performance reviews, and address performance or conduct issues.
- Make recommendations on employee pay and advancement.
- Communicate expectations, promote safety, and facilitate store opening and closing procedures.
- Analyze operating statements to identify business trends and control expenses.
- Manage inventory through ordering, stock presentation, and cycle counts.
- Maintain merchandise presentation, accurate inventory levels, and store security.
- Lead customer service efforts and ensure a clean, safe shopping environment.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, complete required documentation, and maintain tools and equipment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math.
- Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and merchandising.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Experience with recruiting, training, and legal compliance.
- Physical ability to perform frequent standing, lifting (up to 55 lbs), and other physical tasks.
- Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) may be preferred at some locations.
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Management experience in retail is a plus.
