Role Overview
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all store operations, including staff management, inventory control, sales, and customer service. They recruit, train, evaluate, and retain employees, ensuring proper staffing and compliance with labor laws. The role involves managing store processes such as ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and employee development.
- Ensure store is adequately staffed, opened, and closed according to schedule.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage inventory levels, ordering, and merchandising presentation.
- Maintain cash handling accuracy, security, and adherence to procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service and foster a positive shopping experience.
- Ensure store compliance with company policies, safety standards, and legal requirements.
- Maintain a well-organized, safe, and welcoming store environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; management experience in retail is advantageous.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, cash handling, and safety procedures.
- Ability to interpret documents, perform math calculations, and operate cash registers.
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and develop staff.
- Preferred bilingual Spanish skills at some locations.
Physical & Working Conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
- Use of equipment like scanners, pricing guns, and carts.
- Occasional outside weather exposure and travel for deposits or meetings.
