Sustainable PR is a strategic PR and community engagement firm helping renewable energy and sustainability companies earn public trust, engage communities, and build momentum for projects with lasting impact.
We are seeking an experienced PR Account Manager with a unique combination of strategic communications expertise, exceptional media relations skills, and a proven ability to build community support for complex, mission-driven initiatives.
This position offers a competitive base salary range of $75,000 - $95,000, depending on experience, plus generous bonuses and incentives based on performance, distinctive leadership and results.
This is not a traditional PR position. Success here requires someone equally comfortable pitching a national reporter, counseling senior executives, speaking with local stakeholders, and managing communications that influence public opinion.
What You'll Do
· Lead day-to-day management of client accounts.
· Develop and execute integrated PR and communications strategies.
· Secure earned media coverage in national, Tier 1, regional, and trade publications.
· Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and industry influencers.
· Design and implement community engagement and stakeholder outreach programs.
· Write press releases, op-eds, speeches, media pitches, talking points, and other communications materials.
· Advise clients on communications strategy and reputation management.
· Manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities while delivering exceptional client service.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate has demonstrated success in both media relations and community engagement. We are particularly interested in a seasoned PR professional who understands how to build local coalitions and communities around mission-driven work while also maintaining strong relationships with national and Tier 1 media.
· 5+ years of experience in PR, strategic communications, or a related field.
· Proven success securing earned media coverage in national, Tier 1, regional, and trade outlets.
· Demonstrated experience developing and leading community engagement initiatives.
· A track record of building local coalitions and stakeholder relationships.
· Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
· Strong project and account management skills.
· Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day client needs.
· Comfort working independently in a hybrid environment and collaborating closely with a team.
Preferred Experience
· Renewable energy, sustainability, clean technology, infrastructure, or other mission-driven sectors.
· Community solar or large-scale renewable energy projects.
· Experience navigating complex stakeholder and public-opinion environments.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $75,000 -$90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Could well exceed $100,000 annually with bonuses, commissions and profit sharing.
Work arrangement: Hybrid — 2 days in the office and 3 days remote (special exception considered)
