Remote (living within New England only), or hybrid from Vermont.

Like the resources and backing of a larger firm, but don't want the politics, crazy hours and corporate feel that can sometimes come with it?

If you join this regional firm in Greater Boston you would be joining a top 100 firm with around 500 people. You'll be heavily invested in, and supported to develop and grow without having to give up your personal life for 6 months of the year. You won't be expected to work crazy hours, and you'll work as part of a collaborative team with a driven but casual culture. This firm is big enough to have the resources, technology, brand and client base, but still human enough that people talk about work life balance without everyone quietly laughing into their coffee.

The firm is employee owned through an ESOP, privately funded, with no outside investors or private equity involved. So you are not walking into a place where the goal is to dress everything up for a sale in 18 months.

The role is a generalist tax manager position. You'll work with a diverse mix of complex mid-large businesses, and HNW individual tax returns. You'll also lead client relationships develop people in your team.

The sell:

Busy season usually 48-60 hours

Employee owned ESOP

This would suit a tax manager who wants a stronger platform, better resources, and a clearer long term future, without moving into a firm where everyone is permanently exhausted and pretending it is character building.

Here’s the part most people get wrong: you don’t need to tick every box to introduce yourself. The apply button is not legally binding. Worst case? We chat, decide the timing isn’t right, and you carry on. Best case? You bag yourself a fantastic new position.

Prefer the human touch? Splendid. Ring me up. I’m at 617-271-8035. Sometimes LinkedIn hides my number. If they’re sneaky like that, you'll find my details on LinkedIn. I’m Rebecca Sherman at Distinct North America. Also, I get it can be hard to talk with the fear of your Managing Partner walking past your office. I’m around early (6am EST) and after-hours too.
