Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Optometrist to join our dynamic eye care team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and deliver exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help improve vision health and enhance the quality of life for our diverse patient population. Our patient base ranges from 5 and up. Duties
- Perform thorough eye examinations using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to assess visual acuity, eye health, and overall ocular function.
- Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, astigmatism, and other ocular diseases.
- Prescribe corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses, tailored to each patient's needs.
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of prescribed eyewear or treatments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals on complex cases requiring specialized ophthalmology expertise.
- Ensure all procedures adhere to aseptic techniques and maintain a sterile environment for patient safety.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as an Optometrist with current certification to practice in the designated area.
- Proven experience in general optometry with a strong understanding of ophthalmology principles.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy of the eye, and medical terminology related to ocular health.
- Experience with optical equipment, medical coding, and managing medical records efficiently.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient management.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach to patient interactions.
- Ability to perform basic vital signs assessments and apply aseptic techniques during examinations.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
Schedule and compensation
- Typical schedule: Monday-Friday during regular business hours.
- Competitive daily salary in line with local optometrists (depending on days worked)
