About Golden Dog Farm
Golden Dog Farm is a Vermont working farm and lifestyle brand built around maple syrup, bees, agritourism, and the genuine warmth of farm life. With hundreds of thousands of social media followers, national press coverage — including People, Good Morning America, NBC, and the Drew Barrymore Show — and a loyal guest community, Golden Dog Farm is not a typical farm operation. It is a destination.
At the heart of everything we do are our, and the Butternut, golden retrievers — the soul of the farm, the reason guests fall in love with this place, and the living embodiment of the brand’s warmth and spirit. They are not a backdrop. They are the point.
Founded and led by Doug and Becca Worple, the farm is entering its next phase: a new facility anchoring an expanded hospitality program, including agritourism experiences, expanded Corporate Events, ticketed events, and seasonal programming. The Hospitality Manager will be the person who makes that vision real for every guest who walks through the door.
The Role
This is a hospitality leadership role — the person responsible for how Golden Dog Farm feels as an experience. You will own the guest journey, design and lead the agritourism programming that defines the farm as a destination, and manage the run-of-show for events so that every moment from guest arrival to departure reflects the Golden Dog standard.
Golden Dog Farm has a Director of Retail/Event Operations who owns the farm store, event logistics, farm calendar, and operational processes. The Hospitality Manager works alongside that role — and in close partnership with Becca Worple — as the guest-experience and programming lead. Where the Director of Operations ensures the physical and logistical infrastructure of an event is in place, the Hospitality Manager owns what happens inside that infrastructure: the sequence, the flow, the feeling, and the people.
The schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, aligned with when guests are on property and experiences are in motion. This also means days with non-traditional working hours – as events range from Sunday Pancake Breakfasts to evening events like Wines & Wags.
Core Responsibilities
1. Guest Experience & Hospitality
• Own the end-to-end guest experience for farm visits, tours, and ticketed events
• Set and uphold service standards that reflect the Golden Dog Farm brand — warm, genuine, and unhurried
• Greet and host guests on-site; serve as the primary hospitality presence during events and open hours
• Gather and relay guest feedback to inform programming decisions and continuous improvement
• Manage guest communications and follow-ups in coordination with owners
2. Agritourism Programming
• Develop and lead seasonal agritourism programming: farm tours, maple experiences, wine tastings, harvest events, and specialty farm visits
• Concept new experience offerings in collaboration with Doug and Becca; bring ideas that fit the brand and excite guests
• Coordinate with Guest Experience Hosts and part-time staff to deliver consistent, high-quality programming
• Track guest participation and feedback; recommend additions, changes, or retirements to the experience calendar
3. Event Run-of-Show
• Own the run-of-show for all Farm events — the sequencing, timing, and flow from guest arrival through departure
• Develop event timelines and communicate them clearly to the Director of Operations and all staff involved
• Serve as the on-site hospitality lead throughout each event, ensuring the guest experience executes as designed
• Make real-time calls on pacing, guest flow, and service recovery; adapt gracefully when things don’t go to plan
• Debrief after events with the Director of Operations to capture learnings and raise the bar on future execution
4. Team & Seasonal Staff
• Hire, onboard, and manage seasonal Ambassadors of Happiness (Guest Experience Hosts)
• Build a hospitality team culture grounded in our values: authenticity, warmth, and craft
• Provide clear direction, coaching, and feedback; model the standard in every guest interaction future execution
5. Event Sales and Corporate Outreach
• During slower visitor seasons, the role will shift into a focus on sales development, building relationships with corporate event planners, meeting planners, and a focus on marketing the private event side of our business.
• We are currently hosting a number of corporate events annually, but those meetings are happening organically – either via third party introductions or meeting planners who have a personal connection/referral to the farm.
What This Role Is NotTo set clear expectations from the start:
• Not an event logistics role — venue setup, vendor coordination, and physical event infrastructure are owned by the Director of Retail/Event Operations
This role is about people: the guests in front of you, the team around you, and the experiences that make Golden Dog Farm worth coming back to.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate has led hospitality or guest experience operations before — at a hotel, inn, event venue, winery, agritourism destination, or similar — and is energized by building something from the ground up. You are equally comfortable planning months out and adapting on the fly. You love people, not as a skill on a résumé, but as a genuine orientation.
Required
• 3+ years in hospitality, agritourism, or guest experience management
• Demonstrated experience managing event run-of-show and guest flow in a live setting
• Ability to lead a team and hold a service standard under pressure
• Exceptional interpersonal skills — warm, professional, and unflappable with guests
• A genuine love of dogs — golden retrievers are the heart of this farm, present in daily life, and central to the guest experience
• Comfort with seasonal variability and the physical realities of farm-based hospitality
• Availability Wednesday through Sunday, including peak season weekends (May–October)
Strongly Preferred
• Experience with agritourism, farm stays, or rural destination hospitality
• Background in programming or curating guest experiences, not just executing them
• Familiarity with booking platforms or reservation systems
• Connection to Vermont or genuine enthusiasm for farm and food culture
• You have owned, grown up with, or have a deep affection for golden retrievers specifically — you’ll understand immediately why this matters when you visit the farm
