A Project Manager is required to lead the delivery of complex heavy civil and industrial construction projects. The role is responsible for managing project execution from planning through completion, overseeing budgets, schedules, site teams, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of heavy civil and industrial construction projects from planning through closeout.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, profitability and financial forecasting.
- Supervise and mentor project engineers, superintendents and field teams.
- Coordinate with estimating and preconstruction teams to ensure smooth project handovers.
- Resolve technical, operational and scheduling challenges using Critical Path Method (CPM) planning.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations and OSHA requirements.
- Oversee subcontractor performance and maintain effective project coordination.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and implement corrective actions where required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing heavy civil construction projects.
- Proven experience delivering multiple large-scale infrastructure projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore and Primavera or other CPM scheduling tools.
- Strong experience in cost control, budgeting, forecasting and subcontractor management.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% to regional project sites.
Preferred
- Approximately 7 years' experience in water, wastewater or renewable energy infrastructure projects.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, OSHA 30 or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
- Previous people management and performance development experience.
