About the Role
Are you a passionate early childhood educator who believes children learn best through play, curiosity, and meaningful relationships?
ONE Arts Community Schools is seeking Lead Preschool and Toddler Teachers to join our Burlington team. Our classrooms embrace an emergent, play-based, arts-integrated, and anti-bias approach, where children's interests inspire learning and educators are encouraged to bring creativity, curiosity, and joy into every day.
As a Lead Teacher, you'll create a nurturing, engaging classroom where children feel safe, confident, and excited to learn. You'll partner closely with families and colleagues to support each child's development while helping cultivate a positive, collaborative school culture.
What You'll Do
- Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences aligned with the Vermont Early Learning Standards.
- Integrate art, exploration, and children's interests into daily curriculum.
- Foster children's social-emotional growth using positive guidance and relationship-based teaching practices.
- Observe, assess, and document children's development while maintaining meaningful communication with families.
- Collaborate with fellow educators, specialists, and leadership to provide exceptional learning experiences for every child.
- Maintain compliance with Vermont child care licensing regulations and ONE Arts policies.
Qualifications
- Vermont Licensed Early Childhood Educator, or eligible for licensure.
- Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or 21+ ECE/ Elementary Education credits).
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children.
- Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- A collaborative spirit, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating an inclusive, welcoming classroom community.
