Colchester's Department of Planning & Zoning seeks a detail-oriented, analytical problem solver with strong research and writing skills to join its team of energized and engaging staff.
The Planner administers the town's Development Review Board (DRB) permits and serves as Zoning Administrator, guiding the public through the permitting process. This role staffs DRB meetings, drafts findings and decisions, conducts site inspections, and investigates violations to ensure compliance.
Successful applicants will have a relevant bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess excellent customer service skills, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and a strong understanding of land use and development law. Proficiency with standard office suites and custom databases is required; GIS experience is preferred. Must hold a valid Vermont driver's license and be able to attend evening meetings.

Qualifications and Requirements
