Hotel/Motel General Manager – Housing Available

We are seeking a dependable, motivated and hands-on Hotel/Motel General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of an 18-room lodging property in beautiful Londonderry, Vermont.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys hospitality, working with guests and taking ownership of a property. In addition to managing daily operations, the General Manager will have the opportunity to play an important role in the renovation, rebranding and relaunch of the property.
An Opportunity to Help Transform the Property
The property is entering an exciting new chapter and will be undergoing significant renovations, upgrades and a complete rebranding.
Planned improvements are expected to include upgrades to guest rooms and common areas, new amenities and property enhancements designed to create a more distinctive and desirable Southern Vermont lodging experience.
The General Manager will work closely with ownership throughout this transformation and will have the opportunity to contribute ideas regarding the guest experience, operating procedures, amenities, local partnerships, marketing opportunities and ways to increase occupancy and revenue.
We are particularly interested in finding someone who is excited about helping build and grow a hospitality business, rather than simply managing the day-to-day operations of an established motel.

On-Site Housing Available
A private on-site apartment is available in addition to the annual salary.
For the right candidate, this provides an opportunity to live on the property while eliminating or significantly reducing normal housing expenses. This can be particularly attractive for someone interested in relocating to and living in Southern Vermont.

Responsibilities
The General Manager will oversee the overall operation and guest experience of the property, including:
- Managing daily motel operations
- Providing excellent guest service and resolving guest concerns
- Managing reservations, check-ins and check-outs
- Monitoring online booking platforms, room rates and availability
- Helping develop pricing strategies to maximize occupancy and revenue
- Coordinating and supervising housekeeping
- Inspecting guest rooms and common areas
- Scheduling and managing property staff
- Identifying maintenance issues and coordinating repairs
- Managing supplies and inventory
- Maintaining the overall appearance and condition of the property
- Responding to online reviews and maintaining a strong guest reputation
- Tracking operating expenses and providing regular reports to ownership
- Developing relationships with local businesses, restaurants, ski areas and attractions
- Helping ownership implement improvements during the renovation and rebranding process
- Assisting with the property’s relaunch and development of an enhanced guest experience
- Handling occasional after-hours guest or property issues when necessary
Ideal Candidate

- Hands-on and willing to help wherever needed
- Experienced in hospitality, hotels, motels, vacation rentals or property management
- Comfortable with computers, reservation systems and online booking platforms
- Able to supervise and motivate employees
- Focused on cleanliness, property appearance and guest satisfaction
- Business-minded and interested in increasing occupancy, revenue and profitability
- Excited about participating in the renovation, rebranding and growth of a hospitality property
Previous hotel or motel management experience is preferred. However, we will consider candidates with strong backgrounds in hospitality, property management, vacation rentals or other customer-service-oriented businesses.
Compensation
$55,000–$65,000 annual salary, depending on experience
Private on-site apartment available in addition to salary
Performance bonus opportunity of up to approximately $15,000 annually
Performance bonuses may be based on factors including property revenue, profitability, guest satisfaction, online reviews, expense management and overall property performance.
About the Property
The property is an 18-room motel located in Londonderry, Vermont, convenient to Stratton Mountain, Magic Mountain, Bromley Mountain and the many year-round recreational activities Southern Vermont has to offer.
The property is entering a significant renovation and rebranding period with the goal of creating an attractive, comfortable and distinctive lodging destination for skiers, snowboarders, hikers, families, couples and other visitors to Southern Vermont.
Ownership intends to invest significantly in improving the property and guest experience, and we are looking for a General Manager who wants to take pride in the property and help us build its next chapter.
