What You’ll Do
- Support veterinarians in providing compassionate, high-quality patient care
- Assist with examinations, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures
- Safely and compassionately handle and restrain patients
- Obtain patient histories and collect vital information for the medical team
- Collect and prepare diagnostic samples within your training and skill level
- Assist with laboratory procedures and diagnostic imaging
- Administer medications and treatments under veterinarian direction
- Support surgical preparation, patient monitoring, and recovery as appropriate to your training and responsibilities
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients about patient care and veterinarian recommendations
- Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records
- Keep treatment and patient-care areas clean, organized, and properly stocked
- Collaborate with veterinarians and fellow support team members to maintain an efficient daily workflow
- Take ownership of responsibilities and follow through to support positive patient outcomes
- Contribute to a supportive, team-first hospital culture
