About the Role
Mezze Bistro + Bar is looking for a full-time, year-round Line Cook to join our kitchen team.
Founded in 1996, Mezze has spent three decades cooking from scratch, with a focus on Mediterranean flavors and locally sourced, seasonal ingredients that reflect the growing seasons of the Berkshires.
We believe great hospitality starts with a strong team. Our kitchen is collaborative, organized, and rooted in continuous learning. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their craft, communicates well, pays attention to the details, and wants to keep growing as a cook.
Success in this role means coming to service prepared, maintaining a clean and organized station, executing food consistently, communicating with the team, and staying focused and calm when the kitchen gets busy.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain an assigned station for service
- Follow Mezze recipes and preparation standards with consistency
- Taste and season food appropriately
- Maintain an organized, clean, and service-ready workspace
- Follow food safety, sanitation, FIFO, and inventory procedures
- Receive, process, and properly store ingredients and deliveries
- Communicate clearly and work collaboratively during prep and service
- Maintain focus and composure during high-volume service
- Participate in daily kitchen and equipment cleaning
- Take an active role in team meetings, feedback, and continued learning
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- At least one year of experience in a a professional kitchen, preferably in a restaurant setting
- A passion for food and cooking
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- An organized and consistent approach to their work
- Positive communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
- Flexibility and a team-first mindset
- Openness to feedback and a desire to keep learning
- Current ServSafe certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
Schedule
This is a full-time, year-round position with a four- or five-day workweek.
Mezze Bistro + Bar serves dinner Wednesday through Sunday year-round.
The position requires extended periods of standing, frequent reaching and bending, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
