We are seeking a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
Requirements Include
- Graduate of an accredited OTA program
- Current New York State OTA license
- Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting preferred, but new graduates with relevant experience are welcome
Key Responsibilities
- Select therapy activities aligned with the plan of care established by the supervising occupational therapist
- Assist residents with daily activities and monitor their performance in therapy sessions
- Encourage residents and document progress as needed
- Teach residents to use specialized equipment to support daily functions
- Collaborate with the OT to develop rehabilitation plans
- Maintain cooperative relationships within the healthcare team
- Apply evidence-based practices consistent with American Occupational Therapy Association standards
