We are seeking a highly organized Legal Administrative Assistant to support our litigation team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting active litigation matters, including preparing and managing case documents, tracking court deadlines, coordinating filings, and communicating with attorneys, clients and external parties. Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to stay ahead of competing deadlines are essential to keeping cases moving forward efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, proofread, and organize legal documents, including pleadings, correspondence, and filings
- Assist with court filings (including e-filing) and ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines
- Maintain and update case calendars, deadlines, and docket information
- Organize and manage electronic and physical case files
- Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, courts, and third parties
- Schedule meetings, depositions, and other case-related events
- Support billing, time entry, and general administrative needs as required
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a legal administrative assistant, legal assistant, or similar role preferred (litigation experience is a plus, but we will train the right candidate)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Experience with e-filing systems and court procedures is a plus
This is a full-time, in-person position (35–40 hours per week) in our downtown Burlington office, with free and convenient parking. The salary range for this position is $50,000–$70,000 (or higher based on experience).
