The Tax Analyst works closely with Vermont Department of Taxes staff, taxpayers, and many other state agencies and towns, providing support through phone, email, and in-person interactions, as well as reviewing returns for accuracy, correcting mistakes, or requesting additional information. The ideal candidate has extension tax knowledge, experience in business or fiscal duties, knowledge of local government, strong communication skills for explaining complex topics to diverse audiences, and a desire to continue to learn and grow. Hiring at three levels: Level 1: $23.28 -- $48,422 per hour; Level II: $25.98-40.56 per hour; Level III: $27.50-$42.94 per hour. All levels are eligible for excellent State of Vermont benefits.
