Role Description The Residential Life Staff role is a full-time, on-site position based in Waitsfield, VT. This role focuses on supporting and supervising students in the residential community, helping to create a safe, inclusive, and structured living environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring dorms, enforcing school policies, facilitating community-building activities, and responding to student needs and concerns. Residential Life Staff collaborate with faculty, coaches, and families to promote student well-being, personal responsibility, and positive social interactions. Evening and weekend hours are expected, along with participation in school events and occasional trips.
Qualifications
- Ability to foster positive residential experiences, with familiarity or interest in residential life or Residential Real Estate contexts.
- Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening.
- Commitment to Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with a focus on supporting students, families, and colleagues.
- Basic understanding of Sales principles helpful for representing GMVS in a professional manner to prospective families.
- Experience working with adolescents or in boarding school, camp, youth program, or similar settings.
- Demonstrated ability to handle emergencies calmly, maintain appropriate boundaries, and uphold school policies consistently.
- Organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to work evenings and weekends as part of a team-based schedule.
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain; valid driver’s license preferred.
