Northlands Job Corps is seeking an Automotive Instructor to provide
students with engaging, industry-recognized automotive instruction and
hands-on technical training. This position develops lessons, evaluates
student progress, adapts instruction to meet a range of learning needs,
and helps students build the technical and workplace skills necessary
for success in the automotive industry.
The Automotive Instructor also serves as a positive role model and
mentor, supporting students academic, professional, and personal
development throughout their training.
### Essential Duties {#essential-duties section-id="f7qkle" data-start="614" end="634"}
- Provide classroom and hands-on automotive instruction aligned with
industry standards and program requirements.
- Develop and prepare lesson plans, instructional activities,
assessments, and training materials.
- Recommend curriculum changes and supplemental instructional
resources when appropriate.
- Administer and grade tests and other assessments.
- Maintain accurate student attendance, progress, and performance
records.
- Update Training Achievement Records accurately and promptly to
document student progress.
- Select, adapt, and modify instructional resources to support
students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, abilities, and
support needs.
- Manage the classroom and shop environment while providing students
with individual tutoring, coaching, evaluation, and assistance.
- Motivate and counsel students regarding behavior, training
performance, personal concerns, and study habits.
- Evaluate and supervise students participating in on-the-job training
experiences.
- Provide hands-on automotive activities for students participating in
the Career Preparation Period.
- Model appropriate workplace behavior and professional standards.
- Mentor students and reinforce positive behavior through consistent
coaching and appropriate interventions.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom and shop
environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
