Seeking a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited OTA program
- Current New York State OTA License
- Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred; new graduates with relevant experience are also welcome
Key Responsibilities
- Implement therapy activities following the plan of care set by the supervising occupational therapist
- Assist residents with daily activities and monitor their performance in therapy sessions
- Encourage residents and document progress as needed
- Teach residents to use specialized equipment to support daily functions
- Collaborate with the OT to develop rehabilitation plans
- Maintain cooperative relationships within the healthcare team
- Follow evidence-based practices aligned with the American Occupational Therapy Association standards
